A faculty officer at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State, Omoniyi Eleyinmi, has been freed nearly one week after he was kidnapped.
Eleyinmi, who serves in the university\u2019s Department of Education, regained his freedom on Sunday evening.
His release was confirmed by a colleague at the institution, who expressed gratitude for his safe return.
According to a family source, the abductors released Eleyinmi after receiving a significant ransom. He was reportedly freed in a community close to the Ondo State boundary.
\u201cMy brother, a ransom was raised and paid to the kidnappers before they could release him to us,\u201d the source disclosed.
