{"id":1458,"date":"2025-08-22T07:24:28","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T07:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.securityfocus.ng\/?p=1458"},"modified":"2025-08-22T07:24:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T07:24:28","slug":"police-arrest-five-for-snatching-selling-car-in-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.securityfocus.ng\/index.php\/2025\/08\/22\/police-arrest-five-for-snatching-selling-car-in-lagos\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrest Five For Snatching, Selling Car In Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Operatives of the Ilasan Division under the Lagos State Police Command have arrested five suspected members of a car-snatching syndicate alongside the alleged buyer of a stolen vehicle.<br \/><br \/>According to the Command, the incident occurred on August 1, 2025, when a taxi driver reported that three men had booked his services along Platinum Way, Jakande, Lekki.<br \/><br \/>During the trip, one of the suspects reportedly pulled out a locally made pistol, forced the driver out of his black Toyota Corolla, and fled with the vehicle.<br \/><br \/><br \/>Swift investigation and intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of the suspects, identified as Favour Sunday, Ikot Moses, Dickson Ighobue Harrison, Joshua Adedamola, and Daniel Jonathan.<br \/><br \/>Further investigations revealed that the stolen vehicle was sold for N500,000 to Wasiu Arinola, who dismantled it and sold off the parts in Ibadan before he was eventually tracked down and apprehended.<br \/><br \/>Police authorities confirmed that efforts are ongoing to recover the weapon used in the robbery, trace other vehicles disposed of by the gang, and ensure all suspects face prosecution.<br \/><br \/>The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the Command\u2019s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
