Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have uncovered a car theft syndicate that specialises in stealing vehicles directly from owners\u2019 compounds within the Akure metropolis.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the command recovered a stolen Toyota \u2018Muscle\u2019 Camry and arrested a suspect who allegedly bought the vehicle.
According to him, a report was filed on July 18, 2025, by Bolanle Akomolafe, who reported that unknown persons had unlawfully entered her apartment at the Osi axis of Akure North Local Government Area.
The suspects allegedly stole the key to her golden-coloured 2010 Toyota Camry and drove off with the unregistered vehicle alongside other valuables.
Ayanlade stated that the car was later recovered after it had been repainted from golden to blue and hidden in the apartment of one Micheal Olamilekan.
