{"id":2678,"date":"2025-10-29T16:26:54","date_gmt":"2025-10-29T16:26:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.securityfocus.ng\/?p=2678"},"modified":"2025-10-29T16:26:54","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T16:26:54","slug":"police-tighten-grip-on-violent-crime-arrest-cult-leader-in-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.securityfocus.ng\/index.php\/2025\/10\/29\/police-tighten-grip-on-violent-crime-arrest-cult-leader-in-delta\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Tighten Grip On Violent Crime, Arrest Cult Leader In Delta"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Operatives from Oleh Police Division in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State have arrested two suspected cultists in the state.<br \/><br \/>The suspects are Donatus Odovo, a male of 29 years and Zachariah Okeh, also male and 36.<br \/><br \/>They were arrested at 8pm on 26 October 2025.<br \/><br \/><br \/>The Police also recovered from the suspects, one locally made double-barrelled gun and six live cartridges.<br \/><br \/>The suspects are currently in the custody of the Police.<br \/><br \/>Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a statement sent to our correspondent in Warri.<br \/><br \/>He said, \u201cOn 25th October 2025 at about 1800hrs, a resident of Aviara community, under Oleh Division, reported that on 22nd October 2025 at about 0812hrs, a video depicting suspected Eiye cult activity was posted on a WhatsApp group known as \u201cReal Men\u201d.<br \/><br \/>\u201cUpon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Oleh Division, CSP Keme Osuluku, detailed his operatives to investigate discreetly.<br \/><br \/>\u201cAt 0800hrs on 26 October 2025, acting on preliminary findings, the operatives arrested the suspect linked to the post, Donatus Odovo, male, 29, of Aviara community.<br \/><br \/>\u201cFollow-up investigation led to the arrest of Zachariah Okeh (male, 36), alleged to be an Eiye cult leader in Aviara.<br \/><br \/>\u201cDuring a execution of a search warrant at his residence, officers recovered one locally made double-barrelled gun, one locally made single-barrelled gun, and six live cartridges.<br \/><br \/>\u201cThe exhibits were secured, and the suspects were taken into custody for further questioning, while efforts continue to apprehend additional collaborators.\u201d<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Operatives from Oleh Police Division in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State have arrested two suspected cultists in the state.
