On 05 November 2025, troops on routine patrol along Otukpo\u2013Enugu Road at Amoda Axis in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State arrested three suspected criminals found in possession of a locally made pistol and one cartridge,\u201d the statement read.<br \/><br \/>&#8220;The suspects, identified as John Isaac (22 years), Baba Emmanuel (17 years), and Sunday Thomas (19 years) all residents of Otukpo Local Government Area were stopped for a search based on intelligence while riding a motorcycle.<br \/><br \/>&#8220;Sequel to the search, the troops recovered three mobile phones and the sum of N20,200 from the suspects. <br \/><br \/>&#8220;Preliminary investigation suggests that the suspects were on their way to carry out a criminal act before they were intercepted by the vigilant troops. The suspects are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary actions.<br \/><br \/>&#8220;The Force Commander, Operation WHIRL STROKE, Major General Moses Gara, has commended the troops for their professional conduct and robust response in countering the threat before it is actualized. <br \/><br \/>&#8220;He urged them to maintain the momentum of operations and intensify surveillance to ensure the safety of farmers and rural dwellers, especially as the harvest season progresses.<br \/><br \/>\u201cGeneral Gara further reaffirmed the commitment of Operation WHIRL STROKE to sustaining peace and stability across Benue, Nasarawa, and Taraba States, assuring residents of the military\u2019s unwavering dedication to protecting lives and property.\u201d<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested three suspected criminals in possession of arms in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.
