Operatives of the Ogun State police have arrested a 31-year-old man identified as Olarewaju Idris, for allegedly raping an 18-year-old female student of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun.<\/p>\n
The suspected serial rapist defiled the victim, a student from the Library and Information Department after meeting her at a lounge in Ijebu Ode.<\/p>\n
The Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that the he approached the survivor at the nightclub, abducted her at knifepoint, took her to a secluded location, and then viciously raped her.<\/p>\n
Odutola stated that the teenager arrived at the police station, visibly shaking to report the incident.<\/p>\n
On the information, the suspect was tracked down to a popular hotel in Erinwo, Ijebu-Ode, where he was immediately taken into custody on Saturday.<\/p>\n
She said, \u201cAt approximately 6:00 am, an 18-year-old survivor arrived at the police station, visibly shaken.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe recounted how, around 1:00 am, the suspect approached her at the club and, under the threat of a knife, forcibly dragged her away to a nearby street, where he raped her before fleeing into the darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n
Odutola pointed out that the suspect had previously perpetrated a similar crime against another TASUED student at a hotel, where police officers eventually caught him.<\/p>\n
She added, \u201cIn a twist, another TASUED student, also a 300-level student, arrived at the station shortly after, reporting a similar horrifying encounter.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to her account, between 2:00 am and 3:30 am, the same suspect lured her onto a motorcycle and took her to Magun Hotel in Ijebu Ode, where he raped her, leaving severe bruises.\u201d<\/p>\n
She revealed that investigation was on ongoing and the survivors were taken to Ijebu Ode State Hospital for urgent medical attention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
