The FCT Police Commissioner, Miller Dantawaye, says the command has six different syndicates of one-chance perpetrators in its custody.
Dantawaye made this disclosure on Wednesday when he appeared as a guest in an interview on Arise Television.
He was speaking on the security of the FCT during the Yuletide and beyond.
He said that patrols and trainings were ongoing, and all senior officers go out at every point in time to see and ensure police teams are on ground until at least 6am, adding that such has helped them to apprehend a lot of \u2018one chance\u2019 perpetrators.
\u201cWe have ensured that all hands are on deck to make sure that Abuja residents are secured during the Yuletide and beyond.
\u201cSo for the FCT, before I came, there were issues of one chance, robberies here and there, and maybe a few cases kidnapping. But since we came, what we have done is to ensure that all hands are on deck.
\u201cSo what we have done is to make sure that we go out to ensure that the men are actually on ground up till at least 6am. So, that has really gone a long way in assisting us towards apprehending a lot of one-chance people either in the act, or after committing the act.
\u201cAs we speak, I want to assure you that we have at least six different syndicates of one chance perpetrators that are in custody, and usually it starts from just one person.
\u201cThe way we like to put it is you start your investigation from known to unknown. So usually it comes from just one or two persons that you have arrested, and then you continue to dig until the entire syndicate is rounded up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
