The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two teenage gay suspects for allegedly assaulting minors sexually in Tilden Fulani, Toro Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesman of the command, SP Nafiu Habib confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to the statement, the arrest followed a complaint lodged on January 8 by a parent who alleged that his eight-year-old son had been lured and abused by a 16-year-old suspect.
\u201cOn 8th January 2026 at about 2130hrs, a concerned father reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Tilden Fulani, that his son (name withheld), aged 8yrs, was deceitfully lured with sweets and tiger nuts by one Mohammed Saifullahi, \u2018m\u2019 aged 16, who subsequently had homosexual intercourse with him on multiple occasions.\u201d
Upon receipt of the report, a team of detectives were quickly dispatched to the scene. The suspect was arrested, and the victim was moved to the hospital for medical examination.
It was further revealed during preliminary investigation that the suspect was introduced into the homosexual act by one Shuaibu Sulaiman, aged 17, who was also arrested.
Saifullahi, the 16-year-old suspect reportedly admitted to the crime and named one Sulaiman as an accomplice.
Sulaiman was said to have revealed that his first time committing this act resulted from sharing a two-in-one bed with his friend, Saifullahi Mohammed, who was involved in the act.
The police discovered during interrogation that the first suspect, Saifullahi Mohammed, had sexually violated four minors between the ages of 7 and 10.
The Command said initial findings indicated that multiple minors, aged between seven and ten were allegedly victimised.
SP Habib stated that the suspects confessed during questioning and would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the incident, warning that anyone involved in such acts would face the full weight of the law.
