The Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, has deployed an operational police aircraft to Ogun State to strengthen security operations and enhance the fight against criminality and banditry in the state.
The Ogun State Government took delivery of the aircraft and its crew on behalf of Governor Dapo Abiodun, with the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, commending the Inspector General for the prompt deployment.
Talabi said the deployment followed a request by Governor Abiodun for additional aerial support as part of efforts to strengthen the state\u2019s security architecture and sustain the fight against criminal elements.
The SSG conveyed the governor\u2019s appreciation to Disu for his prompt response and commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.
He said the deployment would significantly enhance aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering and the rapid response capabilities of security agencies, complementing ongoing efforts to rid Ogun of criminal elements.
According to him, the development further demonstrated the strong collaboration between the Ogun State Government and security agencies, noting that the partnership had continued to yield positive results in safeguarding residents and protecting critical infrastructure.
Talabi said the aircraft would support ongoing security operations under Operation KOSAYE, a joint initiative between Ogun and Lagos states aimed at flushing out kidnappers, bandits and other criminal elements from forests, border communities and identified flashpoints.
