<\/p>\nThe Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, PSC (+), NPM, and the Chief of the Air Staff, Nigerian Air Force, Air Marshal S.K. Aneke, DFS, have reaffirmed the need for stronger inter-agency cooperation to confront Nigeria\u2019s evolving security challenges.<\/p>\n
Aneke made the call on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the IGP at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, where both leaders discussed ways to strengthen joint security operations between the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).<\/p>\n
The Chief of the Air Staff commended the longstanding professional relationship between both institutions and acknowledged the support provided by the NPF Air Wing to the Nigerian Air Force. He stressed the need for sustained collaboration in joint operations, intelligence sharing and enhanced air support for police activities.<\/p>\n
Discussions focused on aerial surveillance and reconnaissance, tactical deployment, medical evacuation, joint training and improved operational coordination in tackling terrorism, banditry, insurgency and other violent crimes.

Responding, IGP Disu reaffirmed the Force\u2019s commitment to deepening its partnership with the NAF through joint training, capacity building, intelligence-led operations and sustained operational support.<\/p>\n
He also emphasised personnel welfare, effective command and control, and coordinated security planning, particularly ahead of major national events and the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n
The IGP further called for stronger protection of critical national infrastructure, improved logistics and response capabilities, as well as regular reviews of joint operations to identify gaps and improve effectiveness.<\/p>\n
The NAF delegation comprised the Chief of Training, Air Vice Marshal A.Y. Dari; Chief of Operations, Air Vice Marshal P.N. Amadi; Chief of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal N.N. Ananaba; Air Provost Marshal, Air Vice Marshal J.I. Ukeh; Chief of Administration, Air Vice Marshal A.A. Martins; Director of Operations, Air Vice Marshal A.O. Bamidele; Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore E.A. Ejodame; Principal Air Staff Officer to the CAS, Air Commodore H.I. Eze; and Principal Staff Officer Coordination to the CAS, Group Captain F.O. Olanrewaju.

The meeting underscored the importance of closer cooperation between the country\u2019s security institutions, particularly in intelligence, air support, training and coordinated operations, as the government continues efforts to strengthen the national security architecture.<\/p>\n
