Bandits abandoned a kidnapped couple and fled after engaging troops in a gun battle in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.<\/p>\n
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) rescued Hassan Isah and his wife, Juliana Hassan, after responding to a report of their abduction in Ateli village.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred around 12:30am on Friday, September 11, 2026, when troops deployed at Mayir Garrison, alongside local vigilantes, launched a pursuit of the kidnappers.<\/p>\n
The troops later made contact with the kidnappers, leading to a gun battle.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the encounter, the kidnappers abandoned the victims and fled into the surrounding area, allowing the troops to rescue the couple safely,\u201d Zagazola reported.<\/p>\n
Isah sustained injuries during the incident and was evacuated to General Hospital, Wamba, for medical attention.<\/p>\n
