The Katsina State Police Command has taken a 27-year-old man, Sada Tambai, into custody over the alleged killing of his 80-year-old father, Adamu Tambai, in Bindawa Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on September 21, 2026, in Mundadu Village, where the deceased, a former Ward Head of the community, was reportedly found unconscious outside his home.<\/p>\n
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the development in a statement released on Saturday.<\/p>\n
He said the Bindawa Police Division received a distress call around noon from the District Head of Bindawa, Dan Yusufan Katsina, informing the police that the elderly man had been found lying motionless in front of his residence.<\/p>\n
Police detectives were subsequently dispatched to the village, while the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
The medical team, however, pronounced him dead upon arrival at the facility.<\/p>\n
Aliyu said subsequent police investigation led to the arrest of the deceased\u2019s son, who allegedly admitted during questioning that he struck his father on the head with a stick.<\/p>\n
According to the police, the alleged assault caused injuries that led to the elderly man\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
Following the development, the Commissioner of Police in Katsina, CP Ali Umar Fage, directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.<\/p>\n
