About

Security Focus (Naija Security Focus) is a Nigerian news platform dedicated to security. One of our key objectives is to ensure that Nigerians, both at home and abroad, are abreast of the efforts of security agencies in curbing crime and enhancing the overall safety of lives and property.

What we cover

• News: arrests, rescues, operations and developments from the Nigeria Police Force, the Armed Forces, the NSCDC, the DSS and other security and emergency agencies, across all 36 states and the FCT.
• Press releases: official statements from security agencies and public institutions, published in full.
• Stories and testimonies: the people behind the headlines: victims, survivors, officers and communities.
• International: security developments abroad that affect Nigeria and Nigerians.

How we work

We report what agencies, officials and witnesses can confirm, and we say so when a claim cannot yet be verified. Where a story changes after publication, we update it and note the change. We do not publish material that could endanger lives, compromise an ongoing operation, or identify victims of sexual violence or minors.

Corrections

If you believe something we published is wrong, email reachout@securityfocus.ng with the link to the story and what needs correcting. We review every request and correct errors promptly.
