3 Arrested By Police For Alleged Vandalism Of Transformer In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended three suspects allegedly involved in the vandalism and theft of transformer cables in Wuro Dole, Girei Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued in Yola, the state capital. He stated that the arrests followed credible information from a reliable source, which led to the apprehension of the suspects accused of stealing electrical cables critical to the power supply in parts of Girei.

The arrested individuals are Rabiu Ali, 28, Muhammad Musa, 42, and Abubakar Usman, 18. According to the police, the suspects allegedly conspired with three others, who are currently at large, to vandalize the transformer and steal armoured cables for personal gain.

Nguroje revealed that the suspects would be charged in court upon the completion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the Girei Divisional Police Officer and his team for their swift response and effective policing.

He directed the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the case and ensure the arrest of the fleeing accomplices.

Morris also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities around electrical installations.
