Bandits neutralised as security operatives foil ransom payment in Zamfara forest

Security operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Zamfara State have successfully foiled a ransom payment operation and neutralized a group of bandits in Ganuwa forest, Tsafe Local Government Area.
The operation, which took place on Wednesday, was disclosed in a post on the official X handle of security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the JTF operatives acted on intelligence about an attempt to deliver ransom money for the release of a kidnapped victim.

“The bandits reportedly emerged from their hideout to collect the ransom but ran into the waiting security personnel,” the post stated.

“Upon sighting the operatives, the criminals opened fire, leading to a fierce gun battle.”

The post further revealed that the JTF operatives strategically held their ground, allowing the assailants to exhaust their ammunition before engaging and neutralizing them.

Two motorcycles and weapons belonging to the bandits were recovered from the scene.

It was also confirmed that the kidnapped victim was safely rescued and has since been reunited with his family in good health.
