There is panic in Tse-Anundu, a community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, following a deadly assault by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen on Friday.
Local sources confirmed that the attackers stormed the village, killing one person on the spot and abducting a woman during the late-hour raid.
The victim’s identity has not yet been officially disclosed.
Eyewitnesses said panic swept through the community as residents fled for safety, with many narrowly escaping the onslaught.
Some homes were reportedly abandoned overnight amid fears of a possible follow-up attack.
The incident has left the village in a state of mourning and uncertainty, as community leaders renew calls for urgent government intervention and the deployment of more security personnel to the area.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the police or state authorities regarding the attack.
