Police arrest suspected kidnapper with N5m ransom in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper, Sanusi Abdulahi, in possession of the sum of N5 million, which is part of the ransom collected from one of his victims.

Delta Police Command spokesman, Bright Edafe disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists.

Abdulahi was arrested on 12th July 2025 at about 0630hrs, according to Edafe.


Four other members of Abdullahi’s gang were also apprehended by the police.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that they were allegedly responsible for a series of kidnappings at Ibusa, Ogwashi-Ukwu, Obulu-Okiti, Isele-Ukwu, Isele-Asagba and most recently the kidnapping of a young lady at Ogwashi-Ukwu on 9th July 2025.

“The suspect led the operatives to their hideout at Second Deputy and Oko in Asaba, where four other members of his gang were also arrested,” the police spokesman said.

Edafe added that further investigation is ongoing.
