Plateau Police arrest two armed robbery suspects, recovers arms, ammunition

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested two armed robbery suspects and recovered three locally made arms and ammunition in its ongoing crackdown on crime and criminality in the state.

Spokesman for the Command, DSP Alfred Alabo who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, said that the operatives made notable strides in their anti-crime operations when a patrol team from the Kaduna-Vom Division intercepted one Mark Ibrahim Dalyop on August 4, 2025, at 9:00pm at Sabon Layi Kuru while riding a motorcycle from Vom to Kuru.

The police spokesman said on August 11, 2025, detectives from the Nassarawa Gwong Division also arrested one Moses Aliyu, who was hiding in an uncompleted building in Fwave Chiki Rayfield, Jos, following credible intelligence from a reliable source.


Alabo said upon conducting a search on him, one locally fabricated revolver pistol with one .9MM live ammunition was recovered from his possession.

He added that while both suspects are under investigation at the State CID and will face prosecution soon, the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to ensure peace, warning criminals to desist or face the full weight of the law.
