At least eight hunters have died after a deadly attack by bandits in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State.
Reports said on Tuesday that a large group of bandits stormed Hunyo/Sabon Wuri village in Dusai Mahoro District of Mariga and stole several cattle.
Eyewitnesses said the hunters tried to stop the bandits as they were moving the stolen cattle through the area.
“Police Mobile Force operatives deployed in Bangi, the divisional patrol team, and local vigilantes led by the Divisional Police Officer moved swiftly to the scene.
Reports from security expert, Zagazola Makama said the corpses have been taken to General Hospital, Bangi, for autopsy,” said the sources.
