Police arrests 6 illegal miners in Niger

Police in Niger State has arrested six suspected illegal miners during a raid on a mining site in Dangado Village, Paikoro Local Government Area.

Niger State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Wasiu Abiodun, said the operation was carried out by the command’s crack squad following credible intelligence.

According to him, the team stormed the site where they encountered illegal miners. While some suspects escaped, six were apprehended at the scene.


Those arrested were identified as Aliyu Rabiu, Samaila Ibrahim, Sadiku Auwal, Ibrahim Babangida, Musa Adamu, and Sani Hassan.
