Seven nabbed over murder of NYSC member in Abuja

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested seven suspected members of a notorious “one-chance” gang linked to the murder of Miss Oluchi Opara Glory, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who recently completed her service in Abuja.

The arrests, carried out between August 8 and September 25, 2025, followed a petition by Onyegbula Akujuobi & Co. to the Inspector General of Police, which was endorsed to the FCT Commissioner and acted upon by the Scorpion Squad led by ACP Victor O. Godfrey. Actionable digital and reconstructive intelligence guided the operation.

The suspects — Solomon Obada, Olemba Ajonwe, Aba Godwin, Kadijat Yakubu, Sunday Ejih Okpeh, Joseph Oche Samuel, and Michael Sunday Eneh — were traced to Mararaba, Nasarawa, and Kaduna.

During interrogation, Obada and Ajonwe confessed to stabbing the victim inside their blue Golf car during a struggle over her phone before abandoning her in Wuse II.

The victim’s mobile device and the operational vehicle were recovered, while one fugitive suspect remains at large.
