No fewer than three armed robbers on Thursday invaded the residence of former Ijebu-Ode Local Government Chairman, Emilola Gazal, carting away valuables, funds, and his vehicle.
It was learnt that the incident happened at about 2 a.m. in Ijebu Ode GRA.
Gazal, narrating the ordeal to newsmen, said the robbers also forced him to open his bank apps and made him transfer everything to them, leaving just N5,000 in his account.
He said, “The three armed gang broke into my residence at Ijebu Ode GRA at about 2 a.m.
“They collected all the cash with me after which they also forced me to open my bank apps on my phone and forced me to transfer everything there to an account submitted by them. They left N5,000 in my account.
“They made away with my wife’s trinkets and with my ash-colour car.”
The former chairman added that he has reported the incident to the Ijebu-Ode Police Area Command, Igbeba.
Meanwhile, when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said she was yet to be briefed about the incident.
“I am waiting, I have no briefing,” she told our correspondent.
