Police arrest bandits’ supplier, leader, recover arms, livestock in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command said it has recovered 60 cows and 25 sheep earlier rustled by bandits and handed them over to the owners.

It said the success followed information from a repentant bandit.

Spokesman of the command, DSP Mansir Hassan, in a statement, said it has also arrested a suspected bandits’ drug supplier, one person for unlawful possession of firearms, and three suspected child traffickers in separate operations across the state.


According to the statement, operatives on September 29, 2029, arrested one Franklin Ozo, 30, of Danmagaji, Zaria, in possession of large quantities of Exol tablets worth millions of naira.

He said the drugs were traced to Kidandan and Giwa, where they were meant for bandits.

In another operation, operatives apprehended one Alhaji Sani, also known as “Dan Gude,” at Doka Ilu village in Giwa LGA with one fabricated AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition. He added that on September 22, operatives arrested a suspected child trafficker, Khadija Ibrahim, at Narayi, Kaduna, with a child later identified as Abdulmumin.

Further investigation led to the arrest of two more suspects, Daniel Samuel and Danjuma Makoshi, and the rescue of another victim, Ibrahim Bilyaminu, 5, from Gusau, Zamfara State.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, assured residents of the command’s determination to tackle drug trafficking, arms proliferation, and child trafficking in the state, warning criminal elements to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
