Several people have been killed and others injured after armed bandits attacked Gatawa community in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Saturday night.
The attackers also abducted an unspecified number of residents during the raid.
The exact number of casualties was yet to be confirmed as of the time of this report.
The incident was revealed in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst Bakatsine.
“Yesterday night, armed bandits invaded Gatawa community in Sabon-Birni LGA, Sokoto State. They killed and injured several people, and they also abducted an unspecified number of people during the invasion,” Bakatsine wrote.
“It’s very worrisome, how bandits are constantly attacking communities in Sokoto East District,” he added.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
