Troops eliminate 11 terrorists, recover weapons in Sokoto operation

Troops of the Nigerian Army have eliminated 11 terrorists in a carefully planned ambush carried out in Kurawa village, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

This was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Monday.

Makama revealed that the operation was carried out by soldiers of the 8 Division under Operation FANSAN YAMMA.


“The ambush was carried out around 6:45 a.m. on Sunday after troops received reliable information that a group of terrorists was attempting to cross towards Tara village in the same area.

“The 8 Division Garrison Strike Team reportedly took positions along the group’s crossing route and intercepted them, leading to the elimination of 11 fighters during the encounter,” Makama wrote.
