Police arrest suspect over alleged child trafficking in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed an alleged case of child trafficking involving a 13-year-old girl, Salaudeen Saidat.

Salaudeen was reported missing by her aunt, Adeola Ajayi Rukayat, earlier in December 2025.

It was gathered that the aunt raised the alarm after her niece left home and could not be located after several days.

According to the report, the minor had been living with her aunt before her sudden disappearance, which prompted concern and a formal complaint to the police.

Subsequent findings revealed that the missing girl was last seen in the company of one Olawumi Atanda in Ipetu-Jesa town.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the Osun State Police Command had commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance.

DSP Ojelabi also revealed that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the matter.
