Suspected bandits nabbed with 54 rounds of ammunition in Kwara

Three suspected armed bandits have been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command.

State Police Commissioner, Adekimi Ojo, disclosed this to journalists on the sideline of police security summit, organized by the command in Ilorin on Wednesday.

He revealed that police operatives also recovered 54 AK-47 rifle ammunition from the suspects.

The suspects were arrested at Banni axis in Baruten Local Government Area of the state.

Adekimi, assured residents of the state that many suspects have also been arrested and being profiled presently.

He described security as everybody’s business because, security agencies alone cannot do it alone, adding “we need to collaborate with communities to proffer solutions to security challenges in the state.

“We are using the security summit to achieve the aim of solutions to the security challenges confronting the state, hence, the need to harness ideas from stakeholders towards finding solutions to the emergent security challenges by relating with communities and stakeholders across the state.

The commissioner admitted that there are challenges, such as manpower, vehicular and logistics, but, “even if we have a million police personnel, it cannot solve the problem, hence, we just have to collaborate with the communities to achieve the desired results.”
