CP Chuso redeployed to Gombe days after assuming office in Nasarawa

The Gombe State Police Command has announced the deployment of CP Umar Ahmed Chuso as the new Commissioner of Police for the state.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the deployment was approved by the Inspector-General of Police.

“The Inspector-General of Police has approved the posting of CP Umar Ahmed Chuso to Gombe State as the new Commissioner of Police,” Abdullahi said.

He disclosed that CP Chuso has already assumed duty and is now the 24th Commissioner of Police to serve in the state.

According to the statement, the new commissioner takes over at a time the command is working to strengthen security and enhance collaboration with other security agencies and the people of the state.

“The new Commissioner of Police assumes office at a critical period when the command is intensifying efforts to improve public safety and deepen partnership with stakeholders across the state,” the police spokesman said.

Describing CP Chuso as a seasoned officer, Abdullahi said he brings vast experience in policing and security management.

“He is a highly experienced officer and is expected to sustain ongoing security operations while introducing fresh strategies aimed at crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and community engagement,” he added.

The police command appealed to residents of Gombe State to support the new commissioner by providing timely and credible information to security agencies.

“We urge members of the public to cooperate with the police by giving useful and timely information that will assist in maintaining peace and security,” Abdullahi said.

He further assured residents that CP Chuso is committed to professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the discharge of his duties.

“The Commissioner of Police is determined to work with honesty, professionalism, and dedication to protect lives and property in Gombe State,” the statement concluded.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring sustained peace and security across the state.
