Bandits Attack Katsina Community, Abduct Over 20 Villagers

Bandits have attacked Unguwar Daudu community in Dukke ward, Funtua local government area of Katsina State, injuring two residents and abducting at least 20 others.

The development was disclosed on Monday by Bakatsine, a conflict and crisis journalist who reports on insecurity in Nigeria’s northwest.

According to the report, the incident occurred on Sunday night.


Bakatsine said the attack comes despite multiple peace deals brokered by local authorities, questioning the real value of the peace deal in Katsina State.

He wrote: “ALERT: Last night, bandits attacked Unguwar Daudu community in Dukke ward, Funtua LGA of Katsina State, injuring two residents and abducting at least 20 others. The attack comes despite multiple peace deals brokered by local authorities.

“What is undermining these agreements, and how can civilian protection be improved?”
