Edo Security Corps arrests 21-year-old over alleged abduction of four-year-old

The Edo State Security Corps, ESSC, has arrested a 36-year-old man, Jubril Abdullai, for allegedly engaging in homosexual acts with minors in Edo State.

The suspect is reported to have carried out the illegal acts in Aduwawa, Urora, and surrounding areas near Benin City, Uhumwonde Local Government Area.

Speaking to newsmen in Benin City, Richard Balogun, Deputy Corps Commander of ESSC, said the suspect lured victims with gifts and had allegedly abused five other underage children in the area.

Balogun revealed that the arrest followed the hospitalization of a 12-year-old victim, who fell ill and was diagnosed with an ailment in the anal area. “Further medical examination revealed that the minor had been sexually violated multiple times. The victim informed his family about the abuse, which led to the suspect’s arrest,” Balogun said.

He added that families of three other victims have also come forward, reporting similar incidents of sexual abuse perpetrated by Abdullai.

The ESSC Deputy Commander confirmed that the suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
