Police intercept stolen tricycle, arrest suspect in Bauchi

Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a man in connection with a stolen tricycle during a routine patrol in the early hours of January 17.

The tricycle, driven by one Isiyaka Mohammed, was intercepted at about 6:21 a.m. by officers led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of ‘A’ Division, CSP Hassan A. Musa

Spokesman of the Command, SP Nafiu Habeeb disclosed in a statement made available to journalists that the suspect reportedly failed to provide a credible explanation for possessing the vehicle.

According to him, further Investigations revealed that the tricycle, originally green, was stolen two months ago from one Babangida Moh’d in Kobi area and subsequently repainted yellow to avoid detection.


Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has ordered a thorough probe to identify and apprehend any accomplices involved in the theft.

This is as the police urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities to help curb crime in the state.
