Police arrest four, seize drugs in Borno raid

Police in Borno State have arrested four persons and recovered suspected drugs during a raid in Maiduguri.

The operation, carried out on 26 January 2026, was conducted by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Social Vice Unit of the Borno State Police Command.

During the raid, officers recovered 222 wraps of dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp.

They also seized other suspected drugs, including nine Diazepam tablets, 401 Exol tablets, 327 D5 tablets, and 29 Tramadol tablets.

The suspects and the recovered items are currently in police custody.


The police spokesperson, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, said on Tuesday that investigations were ongoing and that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

He added that the command remains determined to tackle drug abuse, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities across the state.

Daso also assured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property in Borno State.
