Police in search of suspect over alleged fatal stabbing in Lamurde

The Adamawa State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a suspect accused of killing his cousin and injuring two others during a violent incident in Tingno District, Lamurde Local Government Area.

The development was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Wednesday.

According to the post, the incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday when a dispute reportedly broke out between Begam Damdam and his cousin, Kawarijo Thomas, both from Garin Maitunku community.

Damdam allegedly stabbed Thomas in the chest, leading to his death, and also injured two others, identified as Thomas Demdem and Robert Yohanna, on their hands.

The police responded to a distress call at about 7:00 p.m., visited the scene, and evacuated the victims to General Hospital, Numan. Thomas was confirmed dead, and his body was deposited for autopsy, while the injured are receiving treatment.

Authorities said efforts are ongoing to arrest the suspect, and the Criminal Investigation Department has been directed to conduct a discreet investigation into the incident.
