The Plateau State Police Command has arrested Babangida Buba, aka Babawo, a notorious kidnap kingpin who had been on the run.
Buba was arrested by operatives of the Investigation and Response Team (IRT) attached to the Command.
During interrogation, Buba confessed to the crime and revealed that he sold one of their operational AK47 rifles to Muhammadu Isiyaku, aka Mamman, of Pankshin LGA.
Mamman has also been arrested, and several firearms and ammunition were recovered.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, warned criminal elements to desist from causing mayhem, saying, “The Command is ready and well equipped to deal with them decisively.”
The Police Chief encouraged the public to remain calm and report suspicious activities, providing emergency contact numbers. “See something, say something,” he urged.
The suspects will be prosecuted alongside others already facing charges.
