Terrorists Invade Kaduna, Kill Two, Abduct Seven In Southern Fresh Attack

Suspected terrorists, on Monday, launched a fresh attack on Awon community in Kaduna State, killing two residents and abducting at least seven others in what locals described as a worsening wave of violence targeting vulnerable communities in Southern Kaduna.

The victims killed in the attack are identified as Joseph Sule, popularly known as “Big Joe,” and Awilo Madugu.

A sourcesaid that those abducted included Gift Victor, Hannatu Yusuf, Salina Sam, Silvia Sam, Dogarah Maisamari, Hassana Bulus, and Joy Samaila.

He lamented that the incessant attacks being experienced in parts of Southern Kaduna call for serious attention by the government to save the locals from what he described as “deliberate attempts to completely wipe away the people from their ancestral home.”

According to him, “With the new wave of attacks in the area, residents are living in fear following the activities of terrorists who are killing and abducting people almost on a daily basis, thereby making life unbearable.”

A community leader, who sought anonymity, called on the government and security agencies to act swiftly and ensure the safety of the people and their property.

Residents say the latest assault has left the community traumatized, with growing frustration over what they described as inadequate and delayed security response in most of the attacks.

Awon community leaders are calling for urgent intervention by security agencies to secure the release of the abducted victims, strengthen security presence, and prevent further attacks in the area, other parts of Southern Kaduna, and the entire country.

The incident adds to the growing concerns over persistent attacks on communities in parts of Kaduna State, where residents continue to face repeated threats to their lives and livelihoods.
