Troops under Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD have arrested two suspected terrorists during a patrol in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
A counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a statement posted on X.
Makama revealed that the troops, deployed at Forward Operating Base, FOB, Babanna, apprehended the suspects at about 5:00 p.m. on April 20 at Babanna Market.
According to him, items recovered from the suspects include one round of 7.62mm special ammunition, two mobile phones and other sundry items.
The security expert added that the suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
“The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to clamp down on terrorist activities and enhance security across the region,” Makama said.
