Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have foiled a terrorist attack on commuters and rescued several victims along a major supply route in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The development was revealed in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. on April 22, when troops of the 120 Task Force Battalion were on routine patrol along the Ngirbuwa-Bulturam Kwana road.
Security sources said the troops responded quickly after receiving reports of an attempted attack at Bulturam Kwana, where suspected terrorists had intercepted a civilian vehicle and forced it into the bush with the aim of abducting the passengers.
However, the attackers fled the scene when they sighted the advancing troops, abandoning their victims.
The soldiers then moved in to secure the area, rescued the occupants of the vehicle, and ensured their safety.
Sources added that troops have continued to patrol and dominate the route to protect commuters and prevent further attacks in the area.
