Operatives of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have successfully prevented a kidnapping incident and rescued two individuals in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to security sources, the incident happened around 8:19 a.m. on April 24 in Agidi community, where suspected kidnappers were said to be carrying out their operation.
The sources noted that troops acted promptly after receiving a distress alert and quickly deployed to the location.
“On sighting the troops, the kidnappers abandoned the victims and fled into nearby bushes,” the source said.
Following the intervention, the rescued victims were safely reunited with their families.
The development is part of ongoing security operations aimed at tackling kidnapping and other criminal acts across the state.
