Troops Destroy Terror Camps, Recover Arms in Kwara

Troops of Operation Savannah Shield have recorded success in an offensive operation against suspected armed criminals in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.

This was made known in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region.

Makama noted that the operation was conducted at about 7:30 a.m. on April 26 at Latan Daji and Lata Forest.

According to him, the troops, who moved into the forest axis during the operation, made contact with the suspected bandits and engaged them in a gun duel.

“During the encounter, three motorcycles were recovered from the fleeing criminals after they were forced to withdraw from the area,” he said.

The security expert further revealed that troops have since secured the recovered items, while follow-up operations are ongoing to clear the forest and deny the criminals freedom of action in the area.
