Troops repel suspected terrorist attack in Kaduna

Troops under Sector 1 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have repelled a suspected terrorist attack in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The development was contained in a post shared on X on Thursday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the incident happened on April 29 at about 4:30 p.m. in Jarhawa village, when suspected terrorists attacked civilians in the area.


Security sources said troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Sabon Birni quickly responded after receiving a distress call about the attack.

The troops were said to have moved swiftly to the scene, forcing the attackers to flee on sighting the advancing soldiers.

One civilian was later found with gunshot injuries and was immediately given medical attention, according to the report.

According to Makama, the area has since been secured by troops, while efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks in the community.
