Troops neutralise two terrorists, recover arms in Zamfara

Troops under Operation Fansan Yamma have killed two suspected terrorists during a patrol in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to security sources, who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 10:20 am on May 3.

Soldiers from 1 Brigade Counter-Terrorism Unit (CT 6), alongside a Quick Reaction Force (QRF), acted on intelligence regarding suspected terrorists moving along the Bagega–Anka road.

The troops encountered the suspects, leading to a gunfight.

Sources said two of the suspects were killed during the exchange, and one motorcycle was recovered at the scene.

They also said the troops remain in control of the area to prevent further criminal activity.

Operations are ongoing to track down those who escaped and maintain pressure on terrorist groups operating in the region.
