Pregnant Women, others killed in Fresh Plateau attack

A seven-month-old pregnant woman, a nursing mother, and a three-year-old toddler were among the victims massacred by gunmen suspected to be Fulani militias who launched a deadly midnight attack on Ngbrran-Zongo village in Kwall District, Bassa LGA of Plateau State on Friday.

The National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Youth Movement, IYM, Joseph Chudu Yonkpa, who made this known in a Facebook post on Saturday morning, said the attack by the terrorists also left several residents injured, including pregnant women, children and elderly victims.

“Around midnight of Friday, 8th April 2026, Fulani militias attacked Ngbrran-zongo village, Kwall district Bassa LGA killing 11 Irigwe persons,” Yonkpa wrote.


“Some victims of the unprovoked and heartless attack included a seven-month-old pregnant woman, a nursing mother, and a three-year-old baby.

“Several others were also injured in the attack, including pregnant women, children, and elderly people who could not flee from the assailants,” he stated.

The IYM Secretary went on to give a list of the slaughtered and injured victims as follows:

3. Paul Musa (Male) 35 years old

4. Gabriel Sunday (Male) 17 years old

5. Eunice Samuel (Female) 25 years old (Pregnant woman)

6. Laraba Sunday (Female) 29 years old (Nursing mother)

7. Festus Sunday (Male) 3 years old

8. Sibi Friday (Female) 23 years old

9. Alheri Monday (Female) 19 years old

10. Friday Monday (Male) 26 years old

11. Deh Sunday (Male)

Those injured include:

1. Esi Sarki (Female) 23 years old

2. Yakubu John (Male) 9 years old

3. Ladi Sarki (Female) 18 years old (Pregnant)

4. Ladi Bitrus (Female) 19 years old

5. Amanda Sunday (Female) 10-years old

6. Danlami Gideon (Male) 12 years old

7. Baba Clement (Male) 30 years old

8. Jezriel Sunday (Male) 8 years old

9. Mary David (Female) 4 years old

10. Monday Francis (Male) 28 years old.
