Police Arrest Three Women In Delta Drug Raid, Recover Illicit Substances

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three female suspects during a raid on suspected drug dens in the Ogbomoro and Ugolo areas of Warri metropolis.

The operation was reportedly carried out by officers attached to the Effurun Area Command following intelligence reports on suspected illegal drug activities within the communities.

The suspects were identified as Favour Isaac, 25, Favour Felix, 24, and Samson Precious, 19.


The raid was said to have taken place on May 7, 2026, at about 9:20 p.m.

During the operation, police operatives executed a search warrant at hideouts located along River Road in the Ogbomoro community.

Items recovered from the locations included 21 bottles of CSC codeine, two canisters containing nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as “laughing gas,” two packs of suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded as “Highness Gum,” as well as 640 grams of substances suspected to be Canadian Loud concealed in bags and containers.

Confirming the development in a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bright Edafe, said preliminary investigations linked the drug supply network to one Rukewe Tega Isaac, who is currently on the run.

According to Edafe, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and other persons believed to be connected to the operation.

Reacting to the arrests, the Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command’s determination to intensify operations against drug trafficking and other related criminal activities across the state.

He stressed that the abuse and distribution of illicit substances continued to contribute to rising cases of violent crimes and social misconduct among young people.

The police commissioner also appealed to residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible and timely information capable of aiding crime prevention and arrests.
