It was gathered on Wednesday that the gunmen had on May 15, invaded the community, shooting sporadically to scare residents before carrying of the attack.

Residents, who spoke with our correspondent said the incident started around 11:40pm after several gunshots suddenly echoed across the area.

One resident said many people initially believed the gunshots were coming from vigilante members who regularly patrol the area at night.

“I thought it was the vigilantes shooting as usual, so I even texted some people immediately that this random shooting had to stop. Not long after, I heard somebody shouting that they had shot him,” the resident said.

During the attack, a man was taken away by the gunmen, while a young man who sustained gunshot injuries is still receiving treatment.

Residents said the attackers moved through the area on foot without motorcycles or vehicles.
