The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has conducted an on-the-spot security assessment at Pan-Atlantic University, Lekki, following a viral video showing two masked individuals emerging from a forest area adjoining the institution.
Leading operational personnel of the Command to the university, the Commissioner engaged with the management and underscored the need for proactive measures to further strengthen security around the campus.
During the visit, CP Fatai advised the institution to tighten its security architecture through improved perimeter protection, enhanced access control, and closer collaboration with security agencies. He also cautioned against actions capable of undermining existing security efforts.
In a move aimed at boosting surveillance and crime prevention, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), with the support of the Lagos State Government, has deployed surveillance drones to the area. The initiative is expected to enhance aerial monitoring, intelligence gathering, and rapid response capabilities within and around the university environment.
The police chief reassured the university management, staff, students, and parents of the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Lagos State.
The development follows concerns generated by the circulation of the video on social media, with authorities moving swiftly to assess the situation and reinforce security measures around the institution.
