Oyo police arrests two for exhuming suspected human skull from a cemetery
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the unlawful possession of a human skull.

The arrest was made following credible intelligence received by the Command regarding the activities of a suspect in possession of an item suspected to be a human skull.

Acting swiftly on the information, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, directed a joint operation involving operatives of the Command and the Amotekun Corps.

During the operation, one Shittu Isah of Kajola Area, Ijio, was successfully apprehended, while the item suspected to be a human sk&ll was recovered and secured as an exhibit.

The suspect was immediately taken into police custody for further investigation.

During interrogation, Shittu Isah confessed to having exhumed the suspected human sk$ll from a Muslim burial ground in Ijio. He further confessed that he did not act alone, a development that led to the arrest of one Tunde Ajibade, who is currently assisting the police with ongoing investigations.

Confirming the arrest to newsmen, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, said the recovered exhibit has been preserved for forensic examination to ascertain its nature,

while investigators are working diligently to unravel the full circumstances surrounding the offence, establish the motive behind the act, and determine whether other persons are connected to the crime.
