Multinational JTF Arrests Suspected Terrorist Logistics Courier, Recovers 21,000 Rounds Of Ammunition

Personnel of the National Gendarmerie stationed at Hilé-Alifa in Cameroon’s Far North Region, under Sector 1 of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), have arrested a suspected terrorist logistics courier and recovered a substantial quantity of ammunition during a patrol operation in the Dougoum Silio area of the Logone.

Lieutenant Colonel Iweha Ikedichi-Onyenonachi, the Acting Chief Military Public Information Officer of the Multinational Joint Task Force, in a statement on Tuesday, said the suspect, identified as Moussa Goudja, 30, was arrested on 10 August 2026 while in possession of three containers disguised as petroleum-product containers, containing approximately 21,000 rounds of 7.62 × 39 mm ammunition.

According to Lt. Col. Onyenonachi, preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect was transporting the ammunition for onward delivery to Ambdego, where he was intercepted, and he is currently in the custody of one of the National security agencies for further investigations, which is ongoing.

He further explained that the Multinational Joint Task Force remains committed to strengthening intelligence-led operations and enhancing cooperation with national security agencies to deny and disrupt terrorist logistics networks, while promoting peace and security across the Lake Chad Basin.

The Force Commander asks all sectors to intensify patrols and clearance operations to disrupt all terrorists’ networks and secure the Lake Chad Basin area to enhance peace and security in the region.
