Police arrests Shilla boys terrorizing Yola community

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested five youths alleged to have been terrorising residents of a community in Yola, the state capital.

The command said the suspects, aged between 18 and 23, were linked to robbery attacks around the Kofare Masallaci Biyu axis in Yola South Local Government Area.

It was gathered on Wednesday morning that the suspects were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, September 1, following intelligence received by the police in connection with a recent robbery incident in Kofare.

The command explained in a statement issued to newsmen that the arrest was carried out by a tactical team attached to the Kofare Divisional Police Headquarters, with the assistance of members of the community.

The statement, signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, identified the suspects as Nura Aliyu, 20; Abubakar Adamu, 21; Abubakar Muhammed, 23; Abdulhameed Yusuf, 18; and Yusuf Husseini, 20.

According to the police, all five suspects are residents of Kofare.

The police command said five cutlasses allegedly used in committing the crimes were recovered from the suspects.
