Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attempted abduction and rescued six members of a family in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on Sunday by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, via his X handle.
According to the report, the troops responded swiftly to actionable intelligence about an ongoing attack by armed terrorists targeting the family.
The troops mobilised to the location and engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon the attack and flee the area.
The intervention enabled the troops to rescue all six family members unharmed.
The rescued victims were relocated to a secure facility for preliminary assessment and care, while arrangements were being made to reunite them with their relatives.
The operation underscores ongoing efforts by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to respond to distress calls and prevent terrorists and other criminal elements from abducting residents in the North-West.
