The Nigeria Police Force has listed rescue of kidnapped victim, several arrests, recovery of stolen vehicles, firearms and other exhibits among the recent achievements of its operatives across the country.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu revealed this on Monday in summary of police activities across the country between 26 and 27 September 2026.
In the post on the Force social media handles, Iniedu said joint security forces in Kogi State successfully rescued an abducted male victim unhurt after sustained bush-combing operations.
He added that the kidnappers fled into the forest when confronted by security operatives.
Clearance operations continue at identified blackspots in the state, with the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Lokoja handling investigations.
In Delta State, police and other security personnel responded to an abduction incident at Owen Village, Ughelli.
Iniedu said the operatives evacuated an injured victim to hospital for treatment and a motorcycle was recovered.
Intensive bush-combing is ongoing to locate the remaining abducted victim and arrest the perpetrators.
Also in Delta State, operatives arrested a driver involved in a fatal road accident at Hausa Market, Okpanam, and another suspect linked to a stabbing incident that resulted in murder.
Iniedu said both cases are being investigated by SCID Asaba.
In Anambra, police operatives intercepted suspected hoodlums conveying a stolen Toyota RAV4 SUV.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bush; the vehicle was recovered and is with SCID Awka.
Police tactical teams arrested a suspected cult member following a distress call about cult-related activity in Onitsha.
In Bauchi State, operatives arrested a suspect in connection with a reported assault at Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate that bordered on culpable homicide.
The weapon used in the incident was recovered as an exhibit. SCID Bauchi is investigating.
In Taraba, police dispersed a violent disturbance at UMCN Church, Kwanti Gana, restored normalcy, and arrested two suspects.
One of th suspects was found in possession of a knife and hammer, while the second, described as a principal mastermind of the attack, was arrested in a follow-up operation.
The case is with SCID Jalingo.
A suspect linked to a violent attack at Koran Zaki Quarters involving culpable homicide and grievous hurt was arrested by police operatives in Gombe State.
Iniedu said atrols have been intensified in the area as efforts continue to arrest other suspects still at large.
In Nasarawa State, Police operatives arrested one suspect in connection with unlawful possession of a locally made revolver pistol and two live rounds of ammunition.
In another incident linked to a fatal road accident in Nasarawa, police recovered a locally made pistol, one live round and two empty shells, and impounded the vehicle involved.
Both cases are under investigation by SCID Lafia.
Police operatives on stop-and-search duty intercepted and arrested a suspect transporting adulterated dry gin in Akwa Ibom State
Five cartons containing 24 bottles each were recovered, along with additional exhibits from the suspect’s residence. SCID Uyo is investigating.
In Imo State, police working with other security personnel disrupted vandalisation at the Water Board in Okigwe. The suspects, according to Iniedu fled, abandoning a truck loaded with vandalised equipment, which was recovered.
The case is being investigated with SCID Owerri.
